A: Estimates for remodeling work provided over the phone(call & text), messenger, or email are free. If you require a quote in-person we do have a trip charge that, depending on the final cost of the project, we will refund it in your final invoice, if the job bid is approved (only for jobs $500 and above).
Q: Do you require a deposit for remodeling jobs?
A: We only require a deposit for costly materials (special orders for doors, windows, flooring, paint, and others), if the cost is more than $150. Any refunds would require a re-stocking fee, depending on the supply company policies.
Q: Do you charge by the job or by the hour?
A: We charge by the job, NOT by the hour for most jobs. When we estimate jobs, we give price estimates or range of cost of labor for a complete project or job. The reason why we charge by the job is really a benefit to our customers, so that if a project runs for longer than expected the customer will be charged the estimated price. The jobs that get priced by the hour are furniture assembly, troubleshooting issues for repair, and drywall and paint touch up throughout a home.
Q: How do I pay for remodeling services rendered at my property?
A: Cash and check are preferred methods of payment, but we do accept credit or debit cards direct ACH deposits, Venmo, Zelle, and Cashapp.
We offer a 3% discount for cash payments.
We also have finance partners available to customers who want to stretch payments out over time.
Q: Can I pay for my bill within a month or 45 days?
A: Unfortunately payment for remodeling services rendered is due upon receipt of the final invoice, and any unpaid invoices after 30 days will receive a 15% late fee (and every 30 days after that). We do have multiple project financing options available to customers, so don’t fret over how to pay or finance a project.
We do accept NET15, 30, or 45 with prior approval for commercial customers.
Q: How do I schedule with Columbus Home Heroes?
A: You may schedule an appointment with us by calling, texting, or emailing us. We usually have availability for handyman home remodeling services within 1 to 4 weeks, depending on the season. We schedule jobs to be done Monday through Friday from 8 am to 6 pm (if it is a small job, we would schedule no later than 3 pm). We DO NOT schedule after-hours (between 5 pm and 7 am) or during the weekends, without prior communication with you, the customer.
